Is MealMitra a registered NGO or charity?

No. MealMitra is not a registered charity or NGO, and contributions are not tax-deductible donations (no 80G / 12A benefit). Operator and company details are on the Legal pages.

What does my contribution pay for?

Your payment goes towards building, operating and growing the MealMitra initiative, including platform development, operations, outreach and, as they begin, food-support activities. Right now, because we are at the start, most of it goes to running the initiative. We will say so here when food drives begin, and we will never claim meals were served before they were.

Where will the food drives happen?

We plan to start in North India. We will publish the place, date and photos of each drive on this website and our Instagram page once it has taken place.

Will I get an invoice?

Yes. As soon as your payment succeeds you can download your invoice as a PDF, and we can also share it with you on WhatsApp on the mobile number you enter when you pay.

Do I need an account?

No. Pick a number, pay, and you are done.

Will my name be public?

Only if you tick "Show my name as a supporter". Otherwise you stay anonymous.

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

No. Once a payment is successfully completed it is final, so please check the quantity and total before you pay. If a payment fails but your bank account is debited, your bank or UPI app reverses it automatically, usually by the next working day. The Refund & Cancellation Policy explains this.

Is my payment safe?

Payments are handled by a payment provider through UPI. We never see or store your payment details.
